Are you an adrenaline junky? Or perhaps you just want to shake things up a little bit and want to try something new in your life.
Sitting indoors and watching television is not going to benefit you when there is a whole world for you to explore.
It has never been easier or more affordable to travel the world trying new things.
Here are some activities that should be on your adventure bucket list.
1. Go Rock Climbing
You don’t have to leave your home country to do this you could go rock climbing at a center near you, indoors. It has recently seen a surge in popularity as an activity and you can join in too.
What’s great about rock climbing is that it is an activity that requires intellectual skills as well as physical strength and motivation. To successfully navigate the rocks, you have to formulate a route and know where to go next.
This takes several minutes of careful thought and planning before you head up.
There are routes for all levels of difficulty, for very beginners to the most agile of climbers. They have been well thought out by experts, the rocks have not just been randomly placed.
Rock climbing is also a great team activity.
Often one person has to stay on the ground and hold the rope in place, helping to hoist the other down when they are done. This is a great team-building exercise for friends.
2. Climb a Mountain
If you have given rock climbing a go and are looking for something a little bit more adventurous why not consider climbing a mountain? You could start with a small one or you could consider traveling to Nepal to climb to Everest Base Camp.
Climbing a mountain, one of a number of outdoor adventures, requires physical strength and mental agility. You need to train in advance and be prepared to experience extreme weather conditions.
3. Go to a Country You’ve Never Heard Of
How many countries in the world can you name? There are approximately 197 excluding overseas territories. There will be some that you’ve never heard of until now.
From tiny African nations like Benin or Guinea-Bissau to nations in South Asia like Timor-Leste, visiting a new country you’ve never heard of is a great way of broadening your horizons.
It means you have no expectations when you jump off the plane and if you’ve gotten off the beaten track you might find there are no other tourists there at all.
If you’re visiting a small island be sure to consider hiring out a catamaran boat for a mini-adventure.
